Meet the makers | Bogota
These brightly coloured, handwoven bags come from the beating heart of Bogota, Colombia’s vibrant capital city high up in the Andes mountains.
Each bag is woven by hand using recycled plastic in an array of colours, like the culture itself. Bogota has a burgeoning craftsmanship for woven pieces using repurposed plastic, that will last the test of time.
How the products are made:
Handwoven by a family business, easy piece is made entirely by hand using recycled plastic.
Ideal for carrying home your beans, fruit and flowers, they are durable and comfortable as well as beautiful.
I’ve worked with Susana to create these designs in these gorgeous colours. Susana’s son and daughter-in-law help to manage the business, where they weave the recycled plastic strips that have been dyed into a wide range of colours.
