Meanings and origins of flowers
From the ‘From Colombia, with love’ collection
The ‘From Colombia, with love’ collection is very special to me as it is the first collection that I have painted in my ‘other’ home, Colombia.
Creating the collection has opened my eyes up to the abundance of talent, skill and resources in Colombia. It is the beginning of some very exciting projects that I can’t wait to share with you in the near future.
The flower painting collection was born as my mind was blown away by the variety of flowers available all-year round in the local Paloquemao market. Some are tropical and exotic, but most are familiar varieties such as roses, carnations and ranunculus.
Below is a guide to the flowers in the collection, sharing what their meaning is and where they are grown in Colombia. From this, the name ‘From Colombia, with love’ was inspired.
